Why we're building
Bamboo was born out of frustration. Too many epic road trips end in a room that smells like 1967, a TV remote held together by scotch tape, and a waffle iron that's somehow both broken and always in use. And that's before you get to the "select service" hotels so generic you forget which city you're in before you've found the ice machine. The American road trip deserves better. So we're building it.
Meet our Team
Nick Curcio
Chief Executive Officer
Nick has driven across the U.S. six times, and along the way stayed in a lot of hotels that didn't live up to the awesome places around them. Those long drives sparked the idea for Bamboo: nature-inspired, affordable hotels as memorable as the places they're part of. Nick just wrapped up business school at MIT and spent five years before that in finance. He graduated from Cornell in 2018 with a degree in Public Policy and a concentration in Real Estate.
Menno Hilberts
Chief Development Officer
Menno has spent his career on a simple problem: cool hotels are unaffordable, and affordable hotels are uncool. In 2008 he joined the founding team of citizenM in Amsterdam, a brand built to prove great design & fair prices can live under one roof, and went on to lead its growth across Europe and the U.S. With 20+ years in hospitality development before that, Menno knows how to build hotels people love without the price tag that usually comes with them.
Andy May
Chief Operations Officer
Andy believes a great hotel comes down to how it makes you feel: welcomed, looked after, at home. He spent nine years at citizenM making that happen, bridging design, development, and operations as the brand grew across Europe and the U.S., always with the guest experience at the center. At Bamboo, he's building an experience that's approachable, and memorable - welcoming, whether you're checking in for the night or just stopping by the bar.
